Our Story

Born from a heritage of textile artistry, Kobava began not as a label, but as a vision to bridge the gap between fine art and everyday comfort. Our roots are planted firmly in the world of surface design, where every sketch and brushstroke was originally destined for the runway or high-end interiors. We realized that the same level of craftsmanship and whimsy reserved for luxury fashion should be woven into the very fabric of your downtime. This journey transformed us from a design house into a purveyor of slow living, dedicated to translating intricate, hand-painted narratives into pieces that feel like wearable art.

The Modern Uniform for Unhurried Living

Today, Kobava stands as a celebration of softness, sustainability, and size-inclusive luxury. We have evolved far beyond the bedroom, curating a wardrobe that flows seamlessly from midnight slumber to morning coffee runs and sunset travels. From signature lounge sets and flowing satin robes to effortless day dresses, each piece is designed to be a sanctuary. We believe that true style doesn’t pause when you leave the boardroom; it simply softens. Whether you are wrapped in a sumptuous sleep shirt or stepping out in a delicate blouse, Kobava invites you to experience the art of living well, one comfortable moment at a time.

Sustainability

We believe that there is a way to make products with
great care, and we acknowledge that our choices as a
company (no matter the size) have an impact on the world.
While we are a small business, we feel it is our responsibility
to do what we can to manufacture sustainably and ethically
and to provide transparency along the way.

Reducing Waste & Our Carbon Footprint

We use 100% recycled ivory poly mailers made
from 100% recycled content and 50% post
-consumer content (ours are from Ecoenclose).
Our mailers take up half the space of regular
paper ones, effectively reducing our carbon
footprint. Additionally, these are tear and
weather-resistant, cutting down on shipping
replacements.
Our cutting marker (the guide used in the cutting
process) allows for an effective consumption
percentage of the fabric, and our pattern master
efficiently lays out our patterns before hand cutting.
These efforts mean that there are very few leftover
fabric scraps. Our sewing factory partner is one who
follows environmentally friendly practices.
We transport about 90% of our inventory via cargo
ship to reduce our carbon footprint. Our items travel
from India to New York, then to our third party
warehouse facility in Ohio. This requires more planning
and time – so we’ve added an extra three months to
our design timeline.
